A Nigerian prom designer is not a search-bar slogan. It is a studio that cuts, beads and fits a dress that does not exist until you ask for it. Asoebi Slayer works that way: custom prom dresses and African-inspired evening looks, made to order.
If you found us by searching “Nigerian designer”, “African designer”, or “African prom designer”, this is the practical path from photograph to night-of.
What Custom Actually Means Here
The lookbook is not a warehouse. The gowns you see were made as statement pieces. Your dress is built from that language — silhouette, colour, embellishment — to your measurements and date. We can stay close to a photographed look or shift colour and coverage. We will not pretend a fully beaded mermaid can be turned around in a week if the calendar says otherwise.
Send A Design Reference
Every public look has an AS-### code. Put that in your enquiry. “The green one” is how dresses get mixed up. “AS-091, emerald mermaid with veil, prom on 20 June” is how we start a real conversation.
If you have your own sketch or a colour you must match to a date’s outfit, send that too. We will say what is possible in our construction, not what a factory filter promises.
Measurements, Fittings, And Where You Are
We dress clients in Nigeria and abroad. You will be asked for measurements (and, where useful, photos in fitted clothing). If you are local enough for a fitting, we will say so. If you are overseas, we plan the process around shipping time as well as sewing time. Either way, the first message should include the prom date and city.
- Design reference (AS-###) or a clear description.
- Event date and location.
- Colour preference, and how covered you want the bodice and slit.
- Any heel height or train notes that affect walking and photographs.
African Prom Designer — What That Looks Like
As an African prom designer we work in sequins, lace, pearls, structured corsets and sculptural sleeves — the same vocabulary as our wedding and birthday work, tuned for a younger, high-glamour night. It is not “African print as default”. It is Nigerian-made precision with presence.
Read more on our prom dresses page, then enquire. If the night is a birthday instead, see custom birthday dresses. If it is a wedding, use the wedding guide and landing page rather than forcing a prom silhouette onto a ceremony.
