How To Commission A Nigeria Wedding Dress

Dates, gele, asoebi and a dress that photographs. How to brief Asoebi Slayer for a wedding.

A Nigeria wedding dress designer is booked against a calendar, not a mood. Ceremonies, receptions and owambes stack up. Fabric has to be dyed or sourced. Beadwork has a pace. If you want a custom African wedding dress from Asoebi Slayer, start with the date — then the look.

We make wedding dresses and guest looks with the same finish as our prom work: corsetry, mermaid lines, floral sculpture, gele-ready silhouettes when the brief asks for it. See wedding dresses and the lookbook before you write.

Bride, Bridal Party, Or Guest

Say which you are in the first line. A bride’s ivory mermaid with pearl fringe is a different commission from eight gold-and-powder-blue mermaids for a bridal party, or a crimson rose gown with gele for a guest who intends to slay the owambe. We can do all three. We cannot guess which.

What To Send In The Enquiry

  • Wedding date (and any second event — traditional, white, reception).
  • City, and whether you can attend fittings.
  • A lookbook reference (AS-###) or fabric and colour notes.
  • Whether you need gele, a fan, or matching looks for a party.
  • How you want to walk: train, slit, coverage at the church or mosque, movement on the dance floor.

If the family is ordering asoebi as a set, tell us the headcount early. Matching beadwork across several bodies is scheduled as one job, not eight last-minute singles.

African Wedding Dress Designer — Tradition Without Costume

As an African wedding dress designer we respect the event in front of us. Some clients want ivory and silver for a white wedding. Others want saturated crimson, gele and a rose train that fills a ballroom. Both are Asoebi Slayer if the cut and finishing are ours. We will not add a headwrap for the algorithm. We will add one when you ask, and we will make it sit with the gown.

Timeline Honesty

Give us the real date. If it is tight, we will say what can be made — and what cannot — rather than take a deposit for a fantasy turnaround. Ready For Shipment is a separate rack for pieces that already exist; wedding commissions are not pulled off that rail.

Enquire with your date and reference. We will confirm what is realistic, then build the dress you actually walk in — not a sample that only worked on a mannequin.
